My first venture into the world of shibari was through a special collaboration I conjured up ten years ago. MCXT joined up with miss True Blue of VOX Body to create a special shibari performance for an upcoming film. We as MCXT created a set, Xara made their purple dress suit, and we utilized some special costuming I created -

- Blue wore a white poppy headpiece I made for the Headgear show & belt adornment 

-On my head an antler headpiece I originally made for the film Orion & a peacock skirt train I made for a RAN action 

- & on Xara an elaborate harness I made in collaboration with Chrystie Cappelli ‘s loom woven brass panel (centerpiece) + horse bits, & horse rib bones gifted to me by a shepherdess friend.

 🌹About the film- By the Roots is an independent feature film written and directed by author & filmmaker, Madison Young.  By the Roots is an adaptation of Young’s 2014 memoir Daddy.  This queer feminist biopic follows Madison’s journey in the early 2000s from the queer kinky art community and chosen family of San Francisco.
