Residentia Gorila, Tulum, Mexico // May 9, 2017

Monica Canilao, Ektor Garcia, Xara Thustra, and Elena Stonaker completed this body of work during their stay at Residencia Gorila. These four artists with distinct styles marked the ending of a cycle at Gorila, after running for 6 years as an art residency on the beach. After a month of exploring the Yucatan, healing their bodies through natural excursions and ceremonies, they produced an eclectic series of video, paintings, mural, painted wood cut-outs and installations.
